Fort Laramie, Wyoming

Even today, Fort Laramie is an impressive site. Originally founded in the 1830's as a fur trading post in the middle of where Cheyenne and Arapaho hunting grounds overlapped, it became a fortress of safety and replenishment on the ever-moving Frontier for travelers West.
