Folsom, California
Before you start humming that Johnny Cash tune, the famous prison opened for business a full 20 years after the Pony stopped carrying the mail. Today, Folsom has a beautifully preserved and utilized historic downtown, that makes you wish you didn't forget your spurs in the truck. Their museum and Wells Fargo building help take you back to that era; there was quite a crowd that gathered in front to see the Pony Express riders switch the mochila.
