The Long Road...

It has been a long and exhilarating adventure up to this point.  We've had a blast along the way!

We went back and looked at our notes from the past year.  Whew!  Here's a brief timeline of the places we visited in order to create 1861: Spirit of the Pony Express:

 

September - January: Back in Los Angeles, post-production and editing of 1861: Spirit of the Pony Express is underway... stay tuned for updates, and the official trailer, coming soon!

June 27th - August 31st: Team 1861 posts up in St. Joseph to film follow-up interviews and to begin editing the last 6 months of footage...

June 26th: The National Association arrives at the Patee House in St. Joseph, finishing the three week long cross-country relay- we've survived the trail!

June 6th - June 25th: Setting off back across the trail to St. Joseph, filming of the National Pony Express Association's annual cross country re-ride from Sacramento to St. Joseph, MO- on the road, in the wilderness, capturing it all!

May 18th - May 27th: The 1861 Team sets off along the Pony Express Trail, heading from St. Joseph, MO to Sacramento, CA. Getting a feel for the trail, and getting ready to meet the National Association in Sacramento for the 150th Anniversary Re-Ride back to St. Joseph.

April 14th - 15th: The team packs their bags and heads to Washington D.C. for filming of the National Pony Express Association's 150th Anniversary Presentation at the Capital- the Pony Express in Washington D.C.!

April 10th - 11th: Heading to Easton Kansas for a dramatic reenactment shoot of famous Pony Express scenes at Western Frontier Adventure and Robert "Cowboy" Culbertson's ranch- what amazing horsemen and horsewomen, and what a great time!

March 20th - April 6th: This is it! Principal photography begins in St. Joseph, MO,  including the 3 day celebration from April 1-3 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Pony Express. We're in the thick of it now...

March 20th: Big fundraiser held at the Pony Express National Museum in St. Joseph, in the hopes of raising money to help the crew stay in town and shoot for the documentary... come down and see us!

March 16th: Team 1861 arrives in St. Joseph, MO to set up shop- staying at Stoney Creek Inn, what a place, and what great people.

January 1st - 9th: The 1861 team heads to St. Joseph Missouri to scout and begin initial research for the Pony Express documentary- here we go, team!
